Lucky Charm Paintings:
Holy Map examines neurological patterns of trauma associated with lovesickness in a body of work designed to reprogram and reverse behaviors resulting from emotional injury. Annabel Linquist constructs mind maps intended to navigate and 'superfix' broken neurological narratives based on the idea that the brain can be rewired with it's own thoughts. Linquist's Lucky Charm paintings include a gleaned lexicon of geometric structures, animal totems, repurposed colloquialisms, and a curious rainbow spectrum that create a luminous visual anthology. Each painting's 'code' (or Holy Map Lexicon) is hidden in hundreds of overlapping underpaintings that are mostly concealed by the final incarnation (or layer) of each work. Linquist continues to develop this visual code to initiate an 'unobstructed feedback loop' as a navigational system between our inner programming and our outer experience.
This work is the visual evolution of her ongoing investigation with reprogramming the brain using layered and recycled noise.

Holy Map is in support of LOVE (Leave Out Violence) and Allied Whale's Adopt-A-Whale Program.

Sound Experiments:
Three years ago, Linquist began a series of sound experiments attempting to rewrite the software of her subconscious mind using tiny, lyrical narratives that she described as 'love songs to her darker parts'. The culmination of this project resulted in a collection of lo fi recordings entitled, I Heart Primordial Hydrocarbons (Songs for Subconscious Alignment) and published under the alias, Gretel Prinn. This inquiry was so compelling Linquist began to build a 'navigational system' to create a visual context in order to archive and further explore this work. This navigational system became Holy Map. Many of these paintings were inspired directly by these sound experiments.

a 'coded fix' constructed to 'transmute' dysfunctional patterns.

Proper Jinx:
a superfix for an original jinx.

Strawberry:
(purifier) reinstalls childhood wonder.

Supercharm:
a visually charged love potion.

Diving Bell:
a person (object or place) with whom one is neurologically supercharged. (usually a love interest in some form)

Holy Map:
a map to the way out (of the rabbit hole).

Calibrated Pirate:
master alchemist.

ghfm:
genius hybrid fuck machine (superfix for 'original sin' (or operating system, OS) corruption in code).

Lucky Good:
a psychic lucky charm. a 'talisman' painting (usually made by private commission). an object programmed to have magic powers and to bring good luck.
